Big Wig Opera’s mission is to provide platforms (space, skills, audience) for presenting operatic productions of exceptional artistic standard utilising the best talent South Africa has to offer.
We envisage collaboration with other organisations to drive opera to be an integral and valued part of the South African cultural experience and to be recognised as a viable and relevant art form.
Our goals are:
- To provide sufficient work opportunities for existing South African talent.
- To develop and utilise exceptional young South African talent.
- To develop a loyal opera audience.
